Livingstones are employment relationship advisors who provide employers with an extensive range of specialist services across Industrial Relations, Human Resources and Organisational Development. It's a challenging area of business, they are often engaged to steer a client through troubled waters, or solve some seemingly impossible challenge.

Their existing corporate identity featured a sextant, which we felt was an apt metaphor, but only told part of the story. I developed a concept that brought together their three service streams: Industrial Relations, Human Resources and Organisational Development in a segmented triangle. I represented a sextant (literally a sixth of a circle), and tied in an impossible puzzle (Harry Penrose's triangle), to create a unique icon.

The visual identity is a pattern that was created by drawing paths between each visible star in the southern cross constellation. The actual southern cross stars are marked with triangles. This idea has the heritage of the sextant metaphor in mind, presented in an Australian context.
